Seyi Tinubu Fires Back as NANS President Alleges Bribe Offer

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has strongly denied bribery and intimidation allegations leveled against him by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, describing the claims as “completely fictional” and an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

In a series of Instagram posts on Friday, Seyi Tinubu responded to the accusations with disbelief, saying:
Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? An attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”

He further dismissed any suggestion of a meeting or interaction with the NANS President:
I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs. All these allegations made by Atiku Isah are completely fictional.”

His reaction followed explosive claims made by Comrade Isah during a press conference held on Wednesday. The NANS leader alleged that Seyi Tinubu and Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, offered him a N100 million bribe in Lagos in exchange for promoting the president’s image among Nigerian students.

Isah claimed he rejected the alleged offer, stating that he could not endorse a government he believes has underperformed. He further alleged that following his refusal, plans were made to intimidate and abduct him.

I was abducted on the 15th of April. I was stripped naked and seriously beaten in collaboration with the MD of NTA. I only complied to secure my release,” Isah said. “Afterward, I issued a statement under duress. They claimed they had a video and threatened to release it.

The NANS president also alleged that his life was threatened and that there were assurances from unnamed individuals that any fallout would be covered up, including his possible assassination.

They told me that even if they killed me, Seyi Tinubu would order a cover-up. One Ladoja, who was involved, said he would instruct the Inspector General of Police to suppress the case,” Isah claimed. “I want Nigerians to know what has happened. Even if I’m shot, I will still speak. Seyi Tinubu can do whatever he wants—we are determined not to back down.”

As of now, there has been no official response from the Minister of Youth Development or the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) regarding the allegations.
